Partendo da Gaeta e facendo tappa a Parigi, Roma, New York e Lexington, il film si sviluppa come un viaggio al seguito di Nicola Del Roscio, presidente della Cy Twombly Foundation, nei luoghi cari all’artista americano, dove incontriamo grandi protagonisti del mondo dell’arte che lo hanno conosciuto e frequentato. Il viaggio diventa anche l’occasione per Nicola Del Roscio per ricostruire un ritratto intimo di Cy, riflettere sulla sua fama, sul processo creativo delle sue opere, sulla poesia del vivere e sull’amicizia e l’affetto che lo hanno legato a lui per tutta la vita, dopo essersi incontrati per caso tra le vie di Roma all’inizio degli anni ’60.

Departing from Gaeta and making stops in Paris, Rome, New York and Lexington, the film unfolds as a journey in the retinue of Nicola Del Roscio, president of the Cy Twombly Foundation, to the sites the American artist cherished most, where we encounter leading protagonists of the world of art who knew and associated with him. For Nicola Del Roscio, this voyage also becomes an opportunity to reconstruct an intimate portrait of Cy, to reflect on his fame, on the creative process of his works and on the poetry of living, friendship and affection that tied him to the artist a lifetime, after their chance meeting on the streets of Rome in the early Sixties.
Andrea Bettinetti. Laureato in Architettura al Politecnico di Milano con Achille Castiglioni, studia cinema alla London International Film School. Dal 2000 ad oggi realizza più di trenta documentari per tutti i maggiori canali italiani così come per diverse televisioni straniere. Sul mondo del cinema e dell’arte ha realizzato Indagine su un cittadino di nome Volonté (2008), L’importanza di essere scomodo Gualtiero Jacopetti (2009), Piero Manzoni, Artista (2013), Swinging Roma (2015), Fabio Mauri, ritratto a luce solida (2017), tutti selezionati a festival e rassegne nazionali e internazionali. Dal 2007 è docente presso l’Istituto Europeo di Design di Milano.
