On the occasion of the major Joseph Beuys retrospective at the Guggenheim Museum in New York, John Halpern films the artist and his helpers as they work to set up the exhibition. This documentary, made in 1988, is an account of Beuys’ most important exhibition and the only video. Major installations, sculptures, and objects from the mid-1950s to the 1977 Honey Pump installation are represented and described in the artist's own voice.

È fondatore dell’Art Corporation of America Incorporated, Art for the 21st Century, New Consume e dell’Institute for Cultural Activism International insieme con la sua partner Emily Marie Harris. Ha esposto in tutto il mondo con artisti come Joseph Beuys, Andy Warhol, Les Levine, Vito Acconci e le sue opere sono nelle collezioni di importanti musei. John DiLeva-Halpern is a proto-conceptual sculptor, award-winning artist and theatrically released film director. He is founder of Art Corporation of America Incorporated, Art for the 21st Century, New Consume and the Institute for Cultural Activism International with partner, Emily Marie Harris. He has exhibited with Joseph Beuys, Andy Warhol, Les Levine, Vito Acconci, more. His works are collected in museums, and he has exhibited worldwide. Halpern has continually produced documentaries, that include collaborations with Martin Scorsese; James Cameron; His Holiness the Dalai Lama; composer, Philip Glass; screenwriter, Melissa Mathison; and Christo, to name a few. The Harris-Halpern team are now completing their new film, Touch The Sky, which captures the energy and times of the Fluxus Art movement.
