Alan Yentob segue l'artista sudafricano William Kentridge a Roma mentre prepara il grande fregio lungo le sponde del Tevere e a Johannesburg, sua città natale e fonte di ispirazione per i magici film di animazione che lui stesso disegna. Cresciuto in Sudafrica durante l'apartheid, Kentridge ha assistito alla transizione verso una democrazia multirazziale e la sua arte riflette la turbolenta storia recente del Sud Africa.

Alan Yentob joins South African artist William Kentridge as he prepares an epic frieze along the banks of the river Tiber in Rome, and visits him in his hometown of Johannesburg, the inspiration for his magical hand-drawn animated films. Brought up during the Apartheid era, Kentridge has witnessed the transition to a multi-racial democracy and his art reflects South Africa’s turbulent recent history.
Adam Low è un regista britannico. I suoi film hanno vinto importanti premi sia in Europa che negli Stati Uniti fra cui nel 2003 l’International Emmy Awards per il miglior documentario d’arte con il film The Life and Times of Count Luchino Visconti.
