Susan Sollins (1939–2014) è stata una figura di riferimento nel campo dell’arte contemporanea per oltre trent’anni, nota per le sue innovazioni nella programmazione pubblica e nell’educazione museale. Ha lavorato come curatrice e consulente per numerose istituzioni artistiche ed è stata co-fondatrice di Independent Curators International (ICI), un’organizzazione no-profit che organizza e presenta al grande pubblico mostre itineranti di arte contemporanea. Nel 1997, Sollins ha fondato Art21 e ne è stata direttrice esecutiva per diciassette anni. È stata produttrice esecutiva e curatrice per sette stagioni della serie di punta trasmessa da PBS, Art in the Twenty-First Century.
