L’artista giapponese Tadashi Kawamata, invitato dal Museo d’arte Thurgau situato nel cuore dell’antica Certosa di Ittingen, in Svizzera, ha realizzato con l’aiuto di studenti e collaboratori, una torre di nove metri d’altezza impiegando migliaia di pezzi di legna da ardere provenienti dalla foresta che circonda il monastero. L'edificazione della torre è al tempo stesso una prodezza di stabilità e una forte esperienza estetica. Il film restituisce quest’avventura attraverso le reazioni dei visitatori e le testimonianze degli abitanti, degli studenti e degli organizzatori.

Invited by the Thurgau Museum, situated in the heart of the ancient Swiss Charterhouse of Ittingen, and with the assistance of a team of students and collaborators, Japanese artist Tadashi Kawamata erects a nine-metre tower with thousands of firewood logs from the forest surrounding the charterhouse. The tower, an engineering feat of stability, is a remarkable aesthetic experience. The film retraces the various phases of this adventure through the impressions of visitors, the students involved and the organizers of the event.
