Kara Walker e il musicista Jason Moran conversano sulla loro collaborazione per il progetto Katastwóf Karavan presentato alla triennale Prospect.4 di New Orleans nel febbraio 2018. Installato ad Algiers Point sulla riva del fiume Mississippi e attivato per tre giorni consecutivi, il lavoro consisteva in un piccolo organo a vapore con trentadue note installato su un carro. I due artisti raccontano come Katastwóf Karavan volesse essere un omaggio alla memoria degli africani portati ad Algiers Point per essere venduti come schiavi nel ‘700.

Kara Walker and musician Jason Moran discuss their collaboration for the project Katastwóf Karavan, presented at the Prospect.4 triennial in New Orleans. Installed at Algiers Point on the bank of the Mississippi River and activated daily across three days in February 2018, the work featured a thirty-two-note steam calliope housed in a wagon. The two artists share how performing Katastwóf Karavan at Algiers Point pays tribute to Africans who were brought there to be sold into slavery in the 1700s.
Ian Forster è produttore e regista presso la società di produzione ART21 a New York. Dal 2009, anno in cui è entrato a far parte della società, ha partecipato a cinque stagioni di Art in the Twenty-First Century e al film William Kentridge: Anything Is Possible, vincitore del Peabody Award. Dal 2012 supervisiona la serie digitale Extended Play che ha prodotto oltre cento brevi ritratti di artisti. Nel 2013 ha creato e diretto Artist to Artist una serie di video online di conversazioni tra artisti registrate durante le varie biennali internazionali in Italia, Turchia, Emirati Arabi e Stati Uniti.
