The documentary provides an overview of the artistic career of Miranda July, a writer, director, and artist whose work explores themes such as intimacy, friendship, and family. The narrative begins with the play The Lifers, written and directed by her as a teenager, and follows her practice to the present day; from her participatory performances, to her feature films to her project Services, created in collaboration with Jay Benedicto, a telemarketer from the Philippines. In each of her works, July seeks new ways to engage, confronting vulnerability and exposing herself to create authentic connections with others.
